Auston O'Hara

​I have been attending FCC High Point since 1999, when I was 18 months old. Since I grew up here I’ve always seen the people here as my second family which is why I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work here. After some conversations with the ministers on staff, and ultimately being led by the Holy Spirit, I decided to switch my major to religion and go into the ministry.

 

In 2017, as a sophomore at HPU, I started volunteering with the youth group which led to me coming on staff as the youth intern, or as they liked to refer to me as "intern 1". In 2019 I married my beautiful wife, and best friend, Alyssa who is the after school director at the church.  Since that time our family has been blessed with the birth of two boys, a girl, and another on the way.

 

In 2020 I took over the full time position as the Student Minister. This job has been an absolute blessing to me. I love teaching and studying God’s word. I also love having the ability to take our students on trips where we have fun but most importantly grow in our walk with Christ. Nothing beats seeing a room full of teenagers passionately worshiping our God or the look in their eyes when it finally clicks during a group discussion.

 

In my free time I enjoy reading and anything sports related. One of my favorite passages of scripture is Psalm 23:1-3.
